Welding conductive parts presents a unique challenge for any welding technology. In laser welding, however, the key issue is the high reflectivity of the material and the variation in reflectivity from part to part, or even on the same part. This application note will demonstrate how you can laser weld highly reflective parts such as gold and copper using a green (532nm) laser.
